Transportation Services Canada says it has reduced prices on the airport cab service from $3.25 to $2.80 a day to help reduce congestion at the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) headquarters.
The service, which operates between Toronto Pearson International Airport and the airport’s Terminal 1, is available for hire starting Monday.
“As we are reducing the cost of our daily taxi service, we are able to provide discounted fares to customers in order to meet the demands of our passengers,” said Steve Stiles, CBSA director of customer service.
“Cab fares are currently significantly cheaper than their counterparts in the United States and we are also seeing more customers using this service than ever before.”
For those who can’t afford a ride, CBS said the service is also now available to people on low-interest loans.
The agency will be working with taxi drivers, airports, airport operators and other businesses to help ensure the service remains competitive in the future.
