A year after taking over from China as the world’s second-largest airline, American Airlines is gearing up to launch a new service called AirTran, with flights from 10 major US cities on a single flight, and is set to debut service between Miami and New York this summer.
AirTran will offer direct flights from Miami to Los Angeles, Las Vegas, Houston, Chicago, Dallas, Atlanta and Philadelphia, with all destinations departing from the newly opened US Airways Terminal B in Washington, DC.
It will also operate direct flights between San Francisco, Los Angeles and Los Angeles.
American will offer service between Washington, D.C., and New Orleans, with a total of 10 flights.
The new service will offer the best option to get from the airport to your destination and will be available on the Boeing 767 aircraft, which is currently the world-wide standard.
Air travel is expected to reach $20.3 trillion in 2019, according to a recent report by research firm eMarketer.
The report predicted the number of US travelers will reach more than 2.2 billion by 2023.
